Training on Gas Analyzer

EIWR organized a training program from March 9 – 16, 2015 on Gas analyzing instrument and on the data generated from it to 9 PhD and 1 MSc students, who are interested to conduct their research on eddy covariance, evapotranspiration, water balance and remote sensing. The training was given by Dr.  Eltayeb Sulieman Nile Babikir Department of Agronomy, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Khartoum.

For the training purpose the gas analyzer was installed at EIWR, Akaki campus for three days and participants of the training were able to collect and analyze the data from the instrument using EdiRe software.

After the training was conducted the gas analyzer was installed at Wonji Sugar Factory.  The farm is about seven thousand square kilometers and it is the first sugarcane state farm in Ethiopia. It is developed over upper Awash Basin which is one of the most utilized basin in terms of irrigation. EIWR get permission to install the equipment at the farm and interested students of the Institute can use this instrument to conduct their research work.
