Admission Requirements

Student Eligibility for MSc

  • Water Resource and Engineering Management requirements: – The applicant must have a BSc Degree in Water Resources Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, Civil Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, Water Supply and Sanitary Engineering, or its equivalence and meet the admission requirements of the School of Graduate Studies. He/she must also pass the entrance examination administered by EIWR. Regarding applicants from other related disciplines, the EIWR Institute Council will rule on the eligibility of such candidates
  • Water and Health admission requirements:-
    • Water and Wastewater stream – candidates must be holders of BSc degree in Water supply and sanitation, Water supply and Environmental engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Water Resource Engineering or its equivalence and meet the admission requirements of the School of Graduate Studies. The applicants must also fulfill the requirement set by EIWR/or pass the entrance examination administered by the Institute. On conditional admission a candidate may be required to take appropriate undergraduate bridging courses.
    • Water and Public Health stream – candidates must be holders of BSc degree in Public Health, Community Health Nursing, Environmental Health, Biology, or its equivalence and meet the admission requirements of the School of Graduate Studies. The applicants must also fulfill the requirement set by EIWR/or pass the entrance examination administered by the Institute. On conditional admission a candidate may be required to take appropriate undergraduate bridging courses.
  • Water Governance admission requirement :- MSc applicants should have a BSc degree or the equivalent in water resources, engineering, management, law, economics, environment, hydrology, Geology, Geography, Biology, Sociology, Agriculture or other closely related discipline. He/she must also pass the entrance examination administered by EIWR. Regarding applicants from other related disciplines, the EIWR Institute Council will rule on the eligibility of such candidates.

 

Student Eligibility for PhD

  • Water Resource and Engineering Management requirements: -Sc. Degree or equivalent in Water Resource Engineering or related fields from a recognized institution. Applicants with M.Sc. degrees in other related subjects may have to attend some undergraduate and graduate courses. Because of this, they may require more time to complete the PhD program. EIWR may give a written qualifying examination and an interview. Candidates may be expected to write a proposal for their PhD dissertation. The proposal has to be approved by at least one professor from the Department. The decision for admission is made by the Institute Council. Candidates must also meet the general application and admission policy of the University.
